26. Formal Translation So the God of Israel {Elohei Yisrael, National Protector} stirred up the spirit of Pul, king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tiglath-Pileser, king of Assyria, and he exiled the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan, where they remain to this day. |
26. Dynamic Translation Therefore, the God of Israel {Elohei Yisrael, Defender of the people} moved the spirit of Pul, king of Assyria, and Tiglath-Pileser, king of Assyria, so that he carried the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh into exile and settled them in Halah, Habor, Hara, and by the river of Gozan, where they still live today. |
