Exegesis

The present participle apangellōn {ἀπαγγέλλων | apanggéllōn} ‘declaring’ runs in close sequence with the act of worship, introducing the content clause hoti ontōs ho theos en hymin estin {ὅτι Ὄντως ὁ θεὸς ἐν ὑμῖν ἐστιν | hóti Óntōs ho theòs en hymîn estin} ‘that truly God is among you’. The adverb ontōs is placed toward the front of the clause to underscore the reality of the confession. The prepositional phrase en hymin ‘among you’ signals corporate divine presence within the gathered community.
