7. Formal Translation
Likewise, lifeless things giving a sound, whether a flute or a harp, if they do not give a distinction in the tones, how will what is being played on the flute or what is being played on the harp be recognized?
7. Dynamic Translation
In the same way, if lifeless things like a flute or a harp make sounds but do not make the notes clear, how will anyone know what tune is being played on the flute or on the harp?
