34. Formal Translation And there is division: the unmarried woman and the virgin are concerned for the things of the Lord {Kyrios, Devotional Master}, so that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But the married woman is concerned for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. |
34. Dynamic Translation Her interests are divided. The unmarried woman or virgin focuses on the Lord’s {Kyrios, Focus of Service} affairs, wanting to be holy in both body and spirit. But the married woman is concerned about worldly matters, seeking to please her husband. |
