6. Formal Translation We are from God {Theos, Source of Discernment}; the one who knows God listens to us, but the one who is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the Spirit of truth {pneuma aletheias, Guiding Holy Spirit} and the spirit of error. |
6. Dynamic Translation We belong to God {Theos, Spiritual Origin}, and whoever truly knows God listens to us. But whoever does not belong to God does not listen to us. That is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception. |
