1 Kings 1:13:2וּבֹ֣אִיuvoiand come 1 Kings 1:13:3אֶל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְelhamelekhto the king 1 Kings 1:13:4דָּוִ֗דdavidDavid 1 Kings 1:13:5וְאָמַ֤רְתְּveamarteand you shall say 1 Kings 1:13:6אֵלָיו֙elavto him 1 Kings 1:13:7הֲלֹֽא־אַתָּ֞הhaloatais it not you 1 Kings 1:13:8אֲדֹנִ֣יadonimy lord 1 Kings 1:13:9הַמֶּ֗לֶךְhamelekhthe king 1 Kings 1:13:10נִשְׁבַּ֤עְתָּnishbatayou swore 1 Kings 1:13:11לַאֲמָֽתְךָ֙laamatkhato your female servant 1 Kings 1:13:12לֵאמֹ֔רlemorsaying 1 Kings 1:13:13כִּֽי־שְׁלֹמֹ֤הkishelomothat Solomon 1 Kings 1:13:14בְנֵךְ֙venekhyour son 1 Kings 1:13:15יִמְלֹ֣ךְyimlokhshall reign 1 Kings 1:13:16אַחֲרַ֔יakharaiafter me 1 Kings 1:13:17וְה֖וּאvehuand he 1 Kings 1:13:18יֵשֵׁ֣בyeshevshall sit 1 Kings 1:13:19עַל־כִּסְאִ֑יalkiseiupon my throne 1 Kings 1:13:20וּמַדּ֖וּעַumaduaand why 1 Kings 1:13:21מָלַ֥ךְmalakhhas reigned or became king 1 Kings 1:13:22אֲדֹנִיָֽהוּ׃adoniyahuAdonijah
13. Formal Translation
Go and enter to King David and you shall say to him, “Is it not you, my lord the king, who swore to your female servant, saying, ‘Surely Solomon your son will reign after me, and he will sit on my throne’? Then why has Adonijah become king?”
13. Dynamic Translation
Go in to King David and say, “Did you not, my lord the king, promise your servant, ‘Solomon your son will rule after me, and he will sit on my throne’? So why has Adonijah taken the throne?”
