2. Formal Translation And he cried out against the altar by the word of the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Proclaimer}, and said, “Altar, altar, thus says the LORD: A son will be born to the house of David—Josiah by name—and on you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and human bones will be burned on you.” |
2. Dynamic Translation Then, by the word of the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Judge}, he declared against the altar, “Altar, altar! This is what the LORD says: A son named Josiah will be born to David’s house; on you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and bones will be burned on you.” |
