| 5. Formal Translation Because David did what was right in the eyes of the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Evaluator}, he did not turn aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. |
| 5. Dynamic Translation This was because David did what pleased the LORD {Yahweh, Holy Lawgiver} and, throughout his whole life, did not drift away from anything He ordered—only in the affair of Uriah the Hittite. |
