| 36. Formal Translation When the offering time arrived, Elijah the prophet drew near and declared, “LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel {Yahweh Elohei Avraham Yitshaq ve-Yisrael, Ancestral Covenant God}, let it be recognized today that You alone are God in Israel and that I am Your servant, and by Your word I have carried out all these things.” |

Dynamic Translation At the moment of the offering, Elijah the prophet stepped forward and prayed, “LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel {Yahweh Elohei Avraham Yitshaq ve-Yisrael, God of ancestors}, prove today that You alone are truly God in Israel. I am Your servant, and I have done all these things because You commanded me to.” |
