11. Formal Translation And God {Elohim, Wise Giver} said to him, “Because you have asked for this thing and have not asked for yourself long life, nor have you asked for yourself riches, nor have you asked for the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to hear judgment.” |
11. Dynamic Translation God {Elohim, Gracious Provider} said to him, “Since you have requested this and did not ask for long life, or for wealth, or for the death of your enemies, but instead asked for wisdom to discern justice.” |
