1 Kings 8:33:2עַמְּךָ֧ammekhayour people 1 Kings 8:33:3יִשְׂרָאֵ֛לyisraelIsrael 1 Kings 8:33:4לִפְנֵ֥יlifnebefore 1 Kings 8:33:5אוֹיֵ֖בoyevan enemy 1 Kings 8:33:6אֲשֶׁ֣רasherwho or which 1 Kings 8:33:7יֶחֶטְאוּ־לָ֑ךְyekheteulakhthey will sin against you 1 Kings 8:33:8וְשָׁ֤בוּveshavuand they will return 1 Kings 8:33:9אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙elekhato you 1 Kings 8:33:10וְהוֹד֣וּvehoduand they will confess or acknowledge 1 Kings 8:33:11אֶת־שְׁמֶ֔ךָetshemekhathe name of you or your name 1 Kings 8:33:12וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֧וּvehitpalleluand they will pray 1 Kings 8:33:13וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֛וּvehitkhannenuand they will plead for favor 1 Kings 8:33:14אֵלֶ֖יךָelekhato you 1 Kings 8:33:15בַּבַּ֥יִתbabayitin the house 1 Kings 8:33:16הַזֶּֽה׃hazethis
33. Formal Translation
When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You {Yahweh, Merciful Judge}, and they turn back to You, confess Your name, pray, and plead to You in this house.
33. Dynamic Translation
If Your people Israel are struck down by an enemy because they have sinned against You {Yahweh, Forgiver of the Repentant}, but then they return to You, confess Your name, pray, and beg You in this house.
