8. Formal Translation And this house, which is high, will become an object of horror; everyone who passes by it will be astonished and will hiss in scorn. Then they will say, “Why has the LORD {Yahweh, Judicial Actor} done such a thing to this land and to this house?” |
8. Dynamic Translation This house, once exalted, will end up as a shocking ruin—everyone passing by will be horrified and will whistle in disbelief. They will ask, “Why did the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Judge} do this to the land and to this house?” |
