Exegesis

Jonathan’s response opens with aleh {עֲלֵ֣ה | ʿă·lê} ‘go up,’ followed by the causal clause ki-netanam {כִּֽי־נְתָנָ֥ם | kî-nĕ·ṯā·nām} ‘for he has given them,’ using the perfect aspect for completed divine action.
