| 22. Formal Translation And Samuel said, "Does the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Judge} delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams." |
| 22. Dynamic Translation Samuel said, "Do you think the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Instructor} prefers burnt offerings and sacrifices or truly listening to His voice? Listen! Obedience is better than offering sacrifices, and paying attention is better than the choicest parts of rams." |
