וַיִּקַּ֨ח{va-yik-KAKH###vah-yik-KAHKH###and he took} מַקְל֜וֹ{mak-LO###mahk-LOH###his staff} בְּיָד֗וֹ{be-YA-do###beh-YAA-doh###in his hand} וַיִּבְחַר־ל֣וֹ{va-yiv-KHAR-lo###vah-yihv-KHAHR-loh###and he chose for himself} חֲמִשָּׁ֣ה{kha-mish-SHA###khah-mihsh-SHAA###five} חֲ‪לֻּקֵֽי־אֲבָנִ֣ים{kha-lu-KE-a-va-NIM###khah-luh-KEE-ah-vah-NEEM###smooth stones} מִן־הַנַּ֡חַל{min-ha-NA-khal###mihn-hah-NAH-khahl###from the wadi or brook} וַיָּ֣שֶׂם{va-ya-SEM###vah-yah-SEHM###and he put} אֹ֠תָם{o-TAM###oh-TAHM###them} בִּכְלִ֨י{bikh-LI###bihkh-LEE###in the vessel or container of} הָרֹעִ֧ים{ha-ro-IM###haa-roh-EEM###the shepherds} אֲשֶׁר־ל֛וֹ{a-SHER-lo###ah-SHEHR-loh###which belonged to him} וּבַיַּלְק֖וּט{u-va-yal-KUT###oo-vah-yahl-KOOT###and in the pouch} וְקַלְּע֣וֹ{ve-kal-O###veh-kahl-OH###and his sling} בְיָד֑וֹ{ve-YA-do###veh-YAA-doh###in his hand} וַיִּגַּ֖שׁ{va-yig-GASH###vah-yihg-GAHSH###and he approached} אֶל־הַפְּלִשְׁתִּֽי׃{el-ha-pe-lish-TI###ehl-hah-peh-lihsh-TEE###to the Philistine}
