| 30. Formal Translation Then Saul’s anger flared against Jonathan, and he said to him, “You son of a perverse, rebellious woman {naqam: twisted, defiant}! Did I not know that you have chosen the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of your mother’s nakedness?” |
| 30. Dynamic Translation Saul became furious with Jonathan and said to him, “You son of a twisted and rebellious woman! Do I not know that you have sided with the son of Jesse—to your own disgrace and to the disgrace of your mother’s dishonor?” |
