1 Samuel 20:29:1וַיֹּ֨אמֶרvayomerand he said
1 Samuel 20:29:2שַׁלְּחֵ֤נִיshalkhenisend me away 1 Samuel 20:29:3נָ֣אnaplease 1 Samuel 20:29:4כִּ֣יkifor 1 Samuel 20:29:5זֶ֧בַחzevakha sacrifice 1 Samuel 20:29:6מִשְׁפָּחָ֛הmishpakhaof a clan or family 1 Samuel 20:29:7לָּ֥נוּlanuis for us 1 Samuel 20:29:8בָּעִ֖ירbairin the city 1 Samuel 20:29:9וְה֣וּאvehuand he 1 Samuel 20:29:10צִוָּ֤ה־לִי֙tsivalihas commanded me 1 Samuel 20:29:11אָחִ֔יakhimy brother 1 Samuel 20:29:12וְעַתָּ֗הveataand now 1 Samuel 20:29:13אִם־מָצָ֤אתִיimmatsatiif I have found 1 Samuel 20:29:14חֵן֙khenfavor 1 Samuel 20:29:15בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָbeenekhain your eyes 1 Samuel 20:29:16אִמָּֽלְטָ֣הimmaltalet me escape 1 Samuel 20:29:17נָ֔אnaplease 1 Samuel 20:29:18וְאֶרְאֶ֖הveereand let me see 1 Samuel 20:29:19אֶת־אֶחָ֑יetekhai{direct object marker} my brothers 1 Samuel 20:29:20עַל־כֵּ֣ןalkentherefore 1 Samuel 20:29:21לֹא־בָ֔אlovahe has not come 1 Samuel 20:29:22אֶל־שֻׁלְחַ֖ןelshulkhanto the table of 1 Samuel 20:29:23הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃סhamelekhthe king
29. Formal Translation
And he said, “Let me go, please, for our clan holds a sacrifice in the city, and my brother has commanded me to be there; and now, if I have found favor in your eyes, let me get away and see my brothers.”
29. Dynamic Translation
He said, “Please let me go. My family is holding a sacrificial feast in the city, and my brother has ordered me to be there. So if I have found favor with you, please allow me to slip away and see my brothers.”
