Exegesis

Ba-sadeh ad erev hayom hashelishi {בַּשָּׂדֶה עַד־עֶרֶב הַיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי} sets locational and temporal boundaries. The chained vav conjunctions link directives and actions, preserved in English by coordinating conjunctions to maintain narrative flow.
