8. Formal Translation
Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant LORD} with you. Yet if there is guilt in me, strike me yourself; for why should you bring me to your father?
8. Dynamic Translation
So please show loyal kindness to your servant, because you brought me into the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Witness} covenant with you. But if I am guilty, kill me yourself—why hand me over to your father?
