Exegesis

The conjunction kî {כִּ֠י | kî} introduces the explanatory clause, and the Qal perfect lō-yāḏaʿ {לֹֽא־יָדַ֤ע | lō-yāḏaʿ} ‘did not know’ asserts utter ignorance.
