8. Formal Translation The LORD {Yahweh, Sovereign Caller} called Samuel once more, for the third time, and he rose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” Then Eli perceived that the LORD was calling the boy. |
8. Dynamic Translation The LORD {Yahweh, Sustaining Shepherd} summoned Samuel a third time. Samuel rose and went to Eli, saying, “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized it was the LORD calling the boy. |
