1 Samuel 4:13:1וַיָּב֗וֹאvayavoand he came
1 Samuel 4:13:2וְהִנֵּ֣הvehineand look, behold 1 Samuel 4:13:3עֵ֠לִיeliEli 1 Samuel 4:13:4יֹשֵׁ֨בyoshevsitting 1 Samuel 4:13:5עַֽל־הַכִּסֵּ֜אalhakisseon the seat, on the throne 1 Samuel 4:13:6יךkh 1 Samuel 4:13:7יַ֥דyadhand, side 1 Samuel 4:13:8דֶּ֙רֶךְ֙derekhway, road 1 Samuel 4:13:9מְצַפֶּ֔הmetsapewatching, looking out 1 Samuel 4:13:10כִּֽי־הָיָ֤הkihayafor he was, for it was 1 Samuel 4:13:11לִבּוֹ֙libohis heart 1 Samuel 4:13:12חָרֵ֔דkharedtrembling, fearful 1 Samuel 4:13:13עַ֖לalover, concerning, upon 1 Samuel 4:13:14אֲר֣וֹןaronark, chest 1 Samuel 4:13:15הָאֱלֹהִ֑יםhaelohimof God 1 Samuel 4:13:16וְהָאִ֗ישׁvehaishand the man 1 Samuel 4:13:17בָּ֚אbacame 1 Samuel 4:13:18לְהַגִּ֣ידlehagidto tell, to report 1 Samuel 4:13:19בָּעִ֔ירbairin the city 1 Samuel 4:13:20וַתִּזְעַ֖קvatizakand it cried out, and she cried out 1 Samuel 4:13:21כָּל־הָעִֽיר׃kalhairall the city
13. Formal Translation
And he came, and behold, Eli was sitting on the seat beside the road, watching anxiously, for his heart trembled for the ark of God {Elohim, Sacred Presence}. And the man came to announce in the city, and all the city cried out.
13. Dynamic Translation
The man arrived—look! Eli was sitting on a chair by the roadside, peering anxiously, because his heart was afraid for the ark of God {Elohim, Holy Symbol}. When the man brought the news to the town, everyone in the city cried out.
