The clause ve-ein mispar la-am {וְאֵ֣אין מִסְפָּ֗ר לָעָ֞ם | ve-ʾê-īn mis-pār lā-ʿām} uses the negative existential to signal an incalculable multitude and introduces a relative clause with asher linking bau immo {בָּ֤אוּ עִמּוֹ֙ | bā-ʾû ʿim-mō} ‘they came with him’ to mimitzrayim {מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם | mi-mịẓ-rā-yīm} ‘from Egypt’.
