Exegesis

The fronted perfect šāqəṭâ {שָׁקְטָה | šāqəṭâ} ‘was quiet’ places emphasis on the period of tranquility, further quantified by the temporal expression ʿeśer šānîm {עֶשֶׂר שָׁנִים | ʿeśer šānîm} ‘ten years’.
