| 14. Formal Translation And they laid him to rest in the tombs he had excavated for himself in the City of David. They placed him on the bed that had been filled with spices and various blended ointments by a perfumer’s art, and they made a very great burning for him. |
| 14. Dynamic Translation They buried him in the tomb he had carved out for himself in the City of David. They laid him on a bier covered with a blend of spices and specialty perfumes, and built a massive fire in his honor. |
