| 11. Formal Translation And Jehosheba, the daughter of the king, took Joash, the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were being killed. She placed him and his nurse in the bedchamber and hid him—Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram and wife of Jehoiada the priest—because she was Ahaziah’s sister, so that Athaliah did not put him to death. |

Dynamic Translation Jehosheba, King Jehoram’s daughter, secretly took Joash, Ahaziah’s young son, away from among the royal princes who were marked for execution; she hid him and his nurse in a bedroom. Because she was Ahaziah’s sister and the wife of the priest Jehoiada, she hid him so that Athaliah would not find and kill him. |
