Exegesis

The relative participle wəhabbāʾ ʾaḥărêhā {וְהַבָּ֥א אַחֲרֶיהָ֖ | wəhabbāʾ ʾaḥărêhā} ‘and whoever comes after her’ introduces the conditional for the Hofal imperfect yūmmāṯ {יוּמַ֣ת | yūmmāṯ} ‘shall be put to death’ with the instrumental beḥārēḇ {בֶּחָ֑רֶב | beḥārēḇ} ‘by the sword.’
