The Hitpael perfect hitqashšərû {הִתְקַשְּׁרוּ | hit-qash-šə-rû} ‘they conspired’ takes the genitive biḏmê bənê Yᵉhôyādāʿ hak-kōhên {בִּדְמֵי בְּנֵי יְהוֹיָדָע הַכֹּהֵן | bi-ḏ-mê bə-nê yə-hô-yā-dāʿ ha-kō-hê-n} ‘for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest,’ stating motive.
