3. Formal Translation But the angel of the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Messenger} spoke to Elijah the Tishbite and said, “Arise; go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’” |
3. Dynamic Translation But the angel of the LORD {Yahweh, Heavenly Envoy} told Elijah the Tishbite, “Get up and go meet the envoys of the king of Samaria, and tell them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’” |
