9. Formal Translation The commanders of the hundreds did all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. Each one brought his men—those coming in on the Sabbath and those going out on the Sabbath—and they came to Jehoiada the priest. |
9. Dynamic Translation The officers of the hundred-man units carried out Jehoiada’s instructions. Each officer brought his men—both those starting their Sabbath rotation and those ending it—and they reported to Jehoiada the priest. |
