2 Kings 19:26:1וְיֹֽשְׁבֵיהֶן֙veyoshevehemand their inhabitants
2 Kings 19:26:2קִצְרֵי־יָ֔דkitsreyadshort of hand or short-handed 2 Kings 19:26:3חַ֖תּוּkhatuwere shattered or were dismayed 2 Kings 19:26:4וַיֵּבֹ֑שׁוּvayevoshuand they were put to shame 2 Kings 19:26:5הָי֞וּhayuthey became or they were 2 Kings 19:26:6עֵ֤שֶׂבesevgrass or plant 2 Kings 19:26:7שָׂדֶה֙sadeof a field 2 Kings 19:26:8וִ֣ירַקvirakand green growth or and green thing 2 Kings 19:26:9דֶּ֔שֶׁאdeshetender grass or fresh grass 2 Kings 19:26:10חֲצִ֣ירkhatsirgrass or hay 2 Kings 19:26:11גַּגּ֔וֹתgagotrooftops 2 Kings 19:26:12וּשְׁדֵפָ֖הushedefaand scorching or and blight 2 Kings 19:26:13לִפְנֵ֥יlifnebefore 2 Kings 19:26:14קָמָֽה׃kamastanding grain or stalk
26. Formal Translation
And their inhabitants, powerless, were dismayed and put to shame; they were like grass of the field, like green herb, like blades of grass on roofs, and like grain scorched before it grows.
26. Dynamic Translation
Their people were dismayed and lost heart; they were like grass in the field, like green herb, like blades of grass on roofs, and dried up before it could grow.
