Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) 2 Kings 2:21:1 ⧉וַיֵּצֵא֙vayetseand he went out 2 Kings 2:21:2 ⧉אֶל־מוֹצָ֣אelmotsato the source of 2 Kings 2:21:3 ⧉הַמַּ֔יִםhamayimthe water 2 Kings 2:21:4 ⧉וַיַּשְׁלֶךְ־שָׁ֖םvayashlekhshamand he threw there 2 Kings 2:21:5 ⧉מֶ֑לַחmelakhsalt 2 Kings 2:21:6 ⧉וַיֹּ֜אמֶרvayomerand he said 2 Kings 2:21:7 ⧉כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣רkoamarthus said 2 Kings 2:21:8 ⧉יְהוָ֗הyahwehthe LORD 2 Kings 2:21:9 ⧉רִפִּ֙אתִי֙ripitiI have healed 2 Kings 2:21:10 ⧉לַמַּ֣יִםlamayimfor the water 2 Kings 2:21:11 ⧉הָאֵ֔לֶּהhaelethese 2 Kings 2:21:12 ⧉לֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֥הloyihyethere shall not be 2 Kings 2:21:13 ⧉מִשָּׁ֛םmishamfrom there 2 Kings 2:21:14 ⧉ע֖וֹדodagain or any more 2 Kings 2:21:15 ⧉מָ֥וֶתmavetdeath 2 Kings 2:21:16 ⧉וּמְשַׁכָּֽלֶת׃umeshakeletand miscarriage or barrenness |
21. Formal Translation And he went out to the spring of the waters, threw salt there, and said, “Thus says the LORD {Yahweh, Miracle Worker}, ‘I have healed these waters; there shall no longer be death or miscarriage.’” |
21. Dynamic Translation He went to the water’s source, tossed in salt, and said, “This is what the LORD {Yahweh, Life Giver} says: ‘I have healed this water; it will never again bring death or cause miscarriage.’” |
