2 Kings 4:7:1וַתָּבֹ֗אvatavoand she came
2 Kings 4:7:2וַתַּגֵּד֙vataggedand she told 2 Kings 4:7:3לְאִ֣ישׁleishto the man of 2 Kings 4:7:4הָאֱלֹהִ֔יםhaelohimGod 2 Kings 4:7:5וַיֹּ֗אמֶרvayomerand he said 2 Kings 4:7:6לְכִי֙lekhigo {you, feminine} 2 Kings 4:7:7מִכְרִ֣יmikrisell {you, feminine} 2 Kings 4:7:8אֶת־הַשֶּׁ֔מֶןethashementhe oil {direct object} 2 Kings 4:7:9וְשַׁלְּמִ֖יveshallemiand pay {you, feminine} 2 Kings 4:7:10אֶת־נשיכיetneshikhiyour creditors or your debt 2 Kings 4:7:11נִשְׁיֵ֑ךְnishyekhyour debt 2 Kings 4:7:12וְאַ֣תְּveatand you {feminine} 2 Kings 4:7:13בניכיvenayikhiyour sons 2 Kings 4:7:14וּבָנַ֔יִךְuvanayikhand your sons 2 Kings 4:7:15תִֽחְיִ֖יtikhyiyou shall live {feminine} 2 Kings 4:7:16בַּנּוֹתָֽר׃פbanotaron the remainder
7. Formal Translation
She came and reported to the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your creditors; you and your sons shall live on the remainder.”
7. Dynamic Translation
She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go sell the oil and settle your creditors; then you and your children can live on the remainder.”
