10. Formal Translation But the day of the Lord {Kyrios, End-Time Judge} will come like a thief. In that day the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements, being burned up, will be dissolved; the earth and the works in it will be brought to light. |
10. Dynamic Translation But the day of the Lord {Kyrios, Final Authority} will arrive unexpectedly like a thief. On that day the heavens will disappear with a loud roar, the elements will blaze and break apart, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. |
