23. Formal Translation The messenger said to David, “Because the men prevailed against us, they came out against us into the field, and we pressed upon them up to the entrance of the gate.” |
23. Dynamic Translation The messenger told David, “The men overpowered us and came out into the field to fight, but we pushed them back all the way to the entrance of the city gate.” |
