2 Samuel 15:19:1וַיֹּ֤אמֶרvayomerand said
2 Samuel 15:19:2הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙hamelekhthe king 2 Samuel 15:19:3אֶל־אִתַּ֣יelitaito Ittai 2 Samuel 15:19:4הַגִּתִּ֔יhagitithe Gittite 2 Samuel 15:19:5לָ֧מָּהlamawhy 2 Samuel 15:19:6תֵלֵ֛ךְtelekhwill you go 2 Samuel 15:19:7גַּם־אַתָּ֖הgamataalso you 2 Samuel 15:19:8אִתָּ֑נוּitanuwith us 2 Samuel 15:19:9שׁ֣וּבshuvreturn 2 Samuel 15:19:10וְשֵׁ֤בveshevand stay 2 Samuel 15:19:11עִם־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙imhamelekhwith the king 2 Samuel 15:19:12כִּֽי־נָכְרִ֣יkinakhrifor a foreigner 2 Samuel 15:19:13אַ֔תָּהatayou are 2 Samuel 15:19:14וְגַם־גֹּלֶ֥הvegamgoleand also an exile 2 Samuel 15:19:15אַתָּ֖הatayou are 2 Samuel 15:19:16לִמְקוֹמֶֽךָ׃limkomekhato your place
19. Formal Translation
And the king said to Ittai the Gittite, “Why should you also go with us? Return and remain with the king, for you are a foreigner and an exile to your own place.”
19. Dynamic Translation
The king said to Ittai the Gittite, “Why come with us too? Go back and live with the king, since you are a foreigner and have been exiled to your own land.”
