2 Samuel 18:4:1וַיֹּ֤אמֶרvayomerand he said
2 Samuel 18:4:2אֲלֵיהֶם֙alehemto them 2 Samuel 18:4:3הַמֶּ֔לֶךְhamelekhthe king 2 Samuel 18:4:4אֲשֶׁר־יִיטַ֥בasheryitavwhich will be good 2 Samuel 18:4:5בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֖םbeenekhemin your eyes 2 Samuel 18:4:6אֶעֱשֶׂ֑הeeseI will do 2 Samuel 18:4:7וַיַּעֲמֹ֤דvayaamodand he stood 2 Samuel 18:4:8הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙hamelekhthe king 2 Samuel 18:4:9אֶל־יַ֣דelyadbeside the hand of or at the side of 2 Samuel 18:4:10הַשַּׁ֔עַרhashaarthe gate 2 Samuel 18:4:11וְכָל־הָעָם֙vekholhaamand all the people 2 Samuel 18:4:12יָצְא֣וּyatseuwent out 2 Samuel 18:4:13לְמֵא֔וֹתlemeotby hundreds 2 Samuel 18:4:14וּלְאַלָפִֽים׃ulealafimand by thousands
4. Formal Translation
And the king said, “Whatever seems good in your eyes, I will do.” And the king stood beside the gate, and all the people went out by hundreds and by thousands.
4. Dynamic Translation
“I will do what seems best to you,” the king replied. Then he stood at the gate while everyone marched out in groups of hundreds and thousands.
