5. Formal Translation
And the king commanded Joab, Abishai, and Ittai, “Deal gently for my sake with the young man, Absalom.” And all the people heard the king give orders to every commander concerning Absalom.
5. Dynamic Translation
The king gave instructions to Joab, Abishai, and Ittai: Be gentle with Absalom for my sake. The entire force listened as the king told each commander what to do regarding Absalom.
