Formal Translation But the people said, “You shall not go out, for if we flee or are made to flee, they will not set their hearts upon us; even if half of us die, they will not set their hearts upon us. For now you are like ten thousand of us, so it is better that you give help to us from the city.” |
| 3. Dynamic Translation But the people replied, “You must not go out; even if we have to flee, they will not care about us; even if half of us die, they still will not care. You are now worth ten thousand of us, so it is better for you to support us from the city.” |
