| 13. Formal Translation And to Amasa you shall say, “Are you not my bone and my flesh? Thus may God {Elohim, Oath Guardian} do to me, and thus may He add, if you do not become commander of the army in place of Joab before me all the days.” |
| 13. Dynamic Translation Tell Amasa, “You are my own flesh and bone. May God {Elohim, Divine Arbiter} punish me and add more if you are not my army commander instead of Joab for the rest of my days.” |
