| 21. Formal Translation The matter is not so. For a man from the hill country of Ephraim, named Sheba son of Bichri, has lifted his hand against the king, against David. “Hand him over alone, and I will withdraw from the city.” The woman said to Joab, “Behold, his head will be thrown to you over the wall.” |
| 21. Dynamic Translation That is not the case. The real issue is that a man named Sheba son of Bichri from the hill country of Ephraim has rebelled against the king, against David. “If you hand over this man alone, I will depart from the city.” The woman told Joab, “Look, his head will be thrown to you over the wall.” |
