2 Samuel 7:8:2כֹּֽה־תֹאמַ֞רkotomarthus you shall say 2 Samuel 7:8:3לְעַבְדִּ֣יleavdito my servant 2 Samuel 7:8:4לְדָוִ֗דledavidto David 2 Samuel 7:8:5כֹּ֤הkothus 2 Samuel 7:8:6אָמַר֙amarsaid 2 Samuel 7:8:7יְהוָ֣הyahwehthe LORD 2 Samuel 7:8:8צְבָא֔וֹתtsevaotof hosts 2 Samuel 7:8:9אֲנִ֤יaniI 2 Samuel 7:8:10לְקַחְתִּ֙יךָ֙lekakhtikhaI took you 2 Samuel 7:8:11מִן־הַנָּוֶ֔הminhanavefrom the pasture 2 Samuel 7:8:12מֵאַחַ֖רmeakharfrom after, from following 2 Samuel 7:8:13הַצֹּ֑אןhatsonthe flock 2 Samuel 7:8:14לִֽהְי֣וֹתliheyotto be 2 Samuel 7:8:15נָגִ֔ידnagidleader, prince 2 Samuel 7:8:16עַל־עַמִּ֖יalammiover my people 2 Samuel 7:8:17עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃alyisraelover Israel
8. Formal Translation
And now, thus you shall say to My servant David: “Thus says the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tseva’ot, Commander of Armies}: I took you from the pasture, from following the flock, to be leader over My people, over Israel.”
8. Dynamic Translation
Now then, say to My servant David: “This is what the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tseva’ot, Divine Commander} says: I brought you out of the pasture from tending the sheep and appointed you ruler over My people Israel.”
