2. Formal Translation
The foreigners also showed us not the usual kindness, for after kindling a fire they welcomed us all because of the rain that was upon us and because of the cold.
2. Dynamic Translation
The local people treated us with extraordinary kindness, lighting a fire and welcoming everyone because of the heavy rain and the chill in the air.
