8. Formal Translation
Now it happened that the father of Publius lay sick, afflicted with fevers and dysentery. Paul went in to him and, after praying, laid his hands on him and healed him.

It happened that Publius’s father was sick in bed, suffering from fevers and dysentery. Paul visited him, prayed, placed his hands on him, and healed him.
