36. Formal Translation
For before these days, Theudas arose, claiming himself to be someone, to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves. He was killed, and all who were obeying him were dispersed and came to nothing.
36. Dynamic Translation
Some time ago, before these days, Theudas stood up and claimed to be somebody important. About four hundred men joined him, but he was killed, and everyone who followed him scattered and ended up as nothing.
