15. Formal Translation Hate evil and love good, and establish justice in the gate; perhaps the LORD God of hosts {Yahweh Elohei-tsevaot, Divine Warrior} will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph. |
15. Dynamic Translation Reject what is evil and choose what is good; uphold justice at the city gate. It may be that the LORD God of hosts {Yahweh Elohei-tsevaot, Powerful Protector} will show favor to Joseph’s remaining people. |
