16. Formal Translation Therefore, thus says the LORD{Yahweh Elohei Tsevaot, Judge of All}, the Lord{Adonai, Sovereign Master}: “In every broad place there will be wailing, and in every street they will cry, ‘Ah! Ah!’ They will call the farmer into mourning, and call for those skilled in lament to take up the wailing.” |
16. Dynamic Translation So this is what the LORD{Yahweh Elohei Tsevaot, Army Leader}, the Lord{Adonai, Final Authority}, says: “You will hear mourning in every plaza and cries in every street: ‘Oh no, oh no!’ They will summon farmers to grieve, and they will call in mourners who know the dirge.” |
