The chief official over the palace servants

He could be blamed or punished by the king

The young men could be promoted above everyone else

The king could stop caring about the arrangement

Bring the concern into the open with honesty and respect

Keep it to yourself so nobody has to feel uncomfortable

Use fear to force agreement from the person in charge

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I come to you with my sin, my fear, and my need. I admit that I have trusted myself and lived for my own safety. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Be my Lord and Savior, and teach me to trust you more than any earthly power. Amen.

Trust Jesus Above Fear

Lord, revive your Church where fear of people has made us cautious, silent, or divided. Give us clear hearts, honest speech, and compassion for those who are under pressure. Make us faithful when powerful voices intimidate us, and keep us from acting out of self-protection alone, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your People Courageous

Father, for anyone who feels trapped by authority, evaluation, or the fear of consequences, bring your peace. Calm the anxious heart, steady the mind, and help us remember that our lives are in your care, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Peace Under Pressure

Before you bring up a difficult concern, first tell God the facts, the risk, and the people affected. Ask him for words that are truthful, respectful, and calm, and for the courage to speak without panic.

Pray Before You Speak

Pray for leaders, supervisors, parents, and anyone in charge of others: that they would weigh consequences carefully, avoid using fear, and act with fairness toward the people they oversee.

For Those Who Carry Responsibility

Bring these to God: your own tendency to hide hard truths, the temptation to protect yourself first, the need to care well for others, and the grace to speak with honesty and respect.
