8. Formal Translation And Daniel set his mind not to defile himself with the king’s portion or the wine served to him, and he requested the chief of the eunuchs to grant him permission to avoid defilement. |
8. Dynamic Translation Daniel resolved in his heart not to make himself unclean by eating the king’s food or drinking his wine, so he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to make himself unclean. |
