36. Formal Translation And the king will act according to his will; and he will exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and against the God of gods {el elim, Sovereign Ruler} he will speak marvelous things; and he will prosper until the indignation is finished, for what is determined will be done. |
36. Dynamic Translation The king will do whatever he wants; he will make himself great, thinking he is above every god, even saying outrageous things against the highest God {el elim, Ultimate Authority}; he will succeed until wrath is exhausted, because what has been decided must happen. |
